28.08.06 Graphic
adopts PCP solution |
Softwires Ltd is pleased to announce the receipt of an important order from Graphic Plc for its flagship Printed Circuit Professional (PCP2) product. Graphic Plc is a world leader in high-density interconnection technology, supplying specialist printed circuits (such as copper filled microvia flexi-rigids) across the full range of business markets, in particular the aerospace, defence, medical and telecommunication industry sectors.
After considerable specification assessment and against stiff competition from several major international system vendors Graphic Plc selected PCP2 as its preferred ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system solution, fully integrated modules from Sales Management for quotations and orders, through Production and Process Engineering (including online job tracking and automatic route card / build sheet generation), Data Capture from the manufacturing cycle, Quality Management, Stock Control, to Sales Contact Management and Document Management also incorporating a Mobile Production Control capability (dynamic PDA wireless connection), and providing integrated Engineering control and Data Management solutions.
Jon Kelsey, Graphic Plc IT Manager identified PCP2 as the ERP system best placed to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market in which products are becoming more complex and diverse, and where the business and factory control requirements are becoming more exacting.
”PCP2 replaces a system that reached the end of its development life, no longer able to fully support our exacting needs; we were impressed with the flexibility of PCP2 and with Softwires willingness to work with us to customise it still further, it has a user friendly interface and will enable us to integrate the functionality of many fragmented applications into a comprehensive companywide solution,” Jon added, “We also feel very comfortable working closely with a reputable UK based company that supports a wide ranging PCB fabricator community”.

04.04.06 Eurotech
implements PCP |
PCP2 went “live” at Eurotech in April 2006, after several detailed demonstrations, one that included an automatic upsizing of existing Eurotech database structures. It was clear to the Eurotech directors that in PCP2 Softwires could provide the preferred state-of-the-art ERP system solution.
David Douglas, Eurotech Financial Director said, “We certainly needed to update our ERP system but, having already invested many man years of time and effort in system configuration and bespoke functionality, we did have grave reservations about system migration, implementation timescales and the inevitable disruption. PCP2 was clearly the most practical and cost effective solution, this has since proved to be the case as the overall transition has been a real success and about as smooth as I could ever have wished for.” he added, “We are already seeing considerable benefits from using PCP2 and although there are more things we need to do, we are very comfortable with the assistance and constant support provided by Softwires. I am particularly impressed with the level of bespoke work Softwires have been willing and able to put into this project”.
